THE PLANNING ALLIANCE

TOWN PLANNING REFORM SEMINAR

Saturday 12 July, 2008
9.00 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

SCOPE Lecture Room
8/F United Centre, Admiralty, Hong Kong

Hong Kong is subject to a 'less than optimum' process for urban planning and design decisions. Following a comprehensive review, which started in 1991, the Government promised far reaching reforms of our
town planning system.
However, when a Town Planning (Amendment) Ordinance was introduced in 2004 it only addressed the ‘easy reforms'.

If this was ‘phase one' then the question is when and how the Government will proceed with the more controversial topics such as the composition and operation of the Town Planning Board, new zoning designations, interim development controls and planning control of building development.

This seminar is organized by The Planning Alliance and is led by former Town Planning Board members, Mr. Nicholas Brooke and Mr. Chan Wai-kwan. The seminar provides a platform for recording and consolidating views and proposals for further action.

Professionals, institutions and concerned organisations are invited to table their views and potential solutions. Verbal representations and written submissions are welcome. For enquiries, please email info@ppservicesgroup.com

The seminar is free of charge, however, seating is limited. To attend please email your name and contact details to info@ppservicesgroup.com

The Planning Alliance
comprises a group of professionals, the majority of whom are actively involved in planning and development in Hong Kong.
