The No Pollution Solution
The Tung Chung Sustainable Development Alliance calls for a full and transparent feasibility study of the 'No Pollution Solution'. Integration of the border crossing facilities and link roads with reclamation on the west and north side of the airport island will move the pollution away from densely populated areas of Tung Chung. As dolphins have returned to The Brothers (east of the Airport island) the 'No Pollution Solution' will have less impact on their habitat. It will also shorten the secure 'bonded' road, allowing for better integration of existing and new public roads. Studies of the integration of roads and airports around the world demonstrate that the 'No Pollution Solution' can be implemented at little additional expense or conflict with air traffic and airport operations. Act now! and get involved with the Tung Chung Sustainable Development Alliance and their effort to get a better solution for Tung Chung by sending an email to: [email protected] or visit www.designinghongkong.com ![]() The proposal by the Tung Chung Sustainable Development Alliance puts the link roads on the north and the border crossing facilities for the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge on the west of the airport island away from residential areas. (For a high resolution image, click here.) ![]() The solution recommended by the Government has the roads and the border crossing facilities in close proximity to existing and planned developments in Tung Chung. As a result, residents will have to suffer air, noise and light pollution from trucks and busses, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |
