Civil Society Summit on Urban Renewal『市區重建策略檢討』公民社會高峰

Urban Renewal affects our quality of life and Hong Kong's development

The Hong Kong Council of Social Services, Hong Kong Democratic Foundation, Democracy Depot, Hong Kong Foresight Centre and over 20 civic groups and individuals are organizing a Civil Society Summit on Urban Renewal.

The aim is to inspire and generate more ideas, and to act as a platform for sharing of experiences and reflections on the urban renewal process by different stakeholders. The summit will cover 3 focus areas:
- Gains and losses from urban renewal
- Alternative planning approaches
- The role of URA and alternatives

《市區重建策略》檢討第一個『構想』階段經已於09年1月完成，現在進入第二階段『公眾參與』部分。市區重建和我們生活息息相關，制訂的《策略》將影響未來香港的都市發展，我們要把握可以發聲的契機，參與制訂這份影響自身安居樂業的文件。

社聯﹑香港民主促進會﹑民主發展資源中心﹑香港前瞻中心等廿多個公民團體及關注議題的活躍人士合辦是次公民社會高峰會（詳參附件），期望透過民間團體的參與和集思，分享不同的人在參與市區重建的經驗和反思，一方面檢視《市區重建》工作的得失，另一方面亦可以重整民間對都市重建／更新的『構想』，共同探討政府及民間團體在策略上和行動上應如何推動和參與第二階段的檢討。

今次高峰會主題有三，分別是﹕
- 檢視『都市重建』的得與失
- 提出城市發展的宏觀規劃方針
- 市建局的角色及其他機制考慮
