District level job losses up to 13%<\/strong><\/p>\n

The impact of COVID on our economy is accelerating. While Government reported an overall unemployment rate of 6.6%, a study of district data by \u2018Designing Hong Kong\u2019 shows local impacts vary.\u00a0 Job losses in the Southern District is 13% for the year ending September 2020. Some industries\u00a0at district level show job losses of over\u00a050%.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Compared with the latest available data, we have lost more than 125 000 jobs compared with the data of the third quarter one year ago. This accounts for 4.4% of the job market. Import\/export trade and wholesale, and accommodation and food services suffered the most. More than 10% of the jobs or nearly 100 000 jobs were lost in these industries in one year.<\/p>\n

Traditional commercial centres such as the Central and Western District, Wan Chai District and Yau Tsim Mong District suffered greatly from the economic recession. In these districts, the import\/export and wholesale; accommodation and food services; and retail suffered and lead to 10.5%, 8.6% and 6.9% loses in jobs in these districts respectively.<\/p>\n

The economies of the Southern District and North District suffered most. Their job markets lost 13.2% and 12.1% of the jobs. This means that one out of every eight jobs were lost during the pandemic. This is worrisome as nearly half (Southern District: 48.3%; North District 53.8%) of the jobs in some districts are taken up by local residents<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, three districts recorded an increase in jobs. Wong Tai Sin and Tsuen Wan showed an 11.5% and 6.9% increase in jobs. It appears to be primarily industries which benefit from changes in consumer behaviour in times of Covid, including food and courier services representing online shopping and centralised food preparation.<\/p>\n

Analyses of the performance of the different industries in each district give out hints of possible longer term shifts in the economy. In Kwun Tong, import\/export and wholesale are the largest job sectors and these lost 8 555 jobs last year. On the other hand, administrative and supporting services industries have gained more than 7 000 jobs, further strengthening their position as the second largest industry in Kwun Tong. Similarly, in Yuen Long, real estate and education industries lost some 2 600 jobs. These were compensated by a rise in jobs in the accommodation and food services, and manufacturing industries.<\/p>\n

To identify the challenges facing the Hong Kong economy in times of Covid we need to look at the performance of industries at district levels. It is not simply about the banking industry, or the Greater Bay Area. We need to uncover opportunities for Hong Kong at district level. We need to embrace this \u2018re-set\u2019 to discover new opportunities and restructure our economy. We need to develop a more resilient and more vibrant economy in every district.<\/p>\n

\u6839\u64da\u653f\u5e9c\u63d0\u4f9b\u6700\u65b0\u7684\u6578\u64da\uff0c\u8207\u4e00\u5e74\u524d\u7684\u7b2c\u4e09\u5b63\u5ea6\u6bd4\u8f03\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u640d\u5931\u4e86\u8d85\u904e125 000\u500b\u8077\u4f4d\uff0c\u4f54\u4e86\u5c31\u696d\u5e02\u5834\u76844.4%\u3002\u7576\u4e2d\u9032\u51fa\u53e3\u8cbf\u6613\u53ca\u6279\u767c\u548c\u4f4f\u5bbf\u53ca\u81b3\u98df\u670d\u52d9\u5169\u500b\u884c\u696d\u53d7\u6700\u5927\u6253\u6483\u3002\u4e00\u5e74\u9593\u5169\u500b\u884c\u696d\u5404\u81ea\u640d\u5931\u4e86\u8d85\u904e10%\u7684\u8077\u4f4d\uff0c\u5408\u5171\u4ee4\u5c31\u696d\u5e02\u5834\u6e1b\u5c11\u4e86\u63a5\u8fd1\u5341\u842c\u500b\u8077\u4f4d\u3002<\/p>\n

\u75ab\u60c5\u5c0d\u50b3\u7d71\u7684\u5546\u696d\u4e2d\u5fc3\u4f8b\u5982\u4e2d\u897f\u5340\u3001\u7063\u4ed4\u5340\u548c\u6cb9\u5c16\u65fa\u5340\u9020\u6210\u56b4\u91cd\u7684\u6253\u64ca\u3002\u53d7\u5230\u9032\u51fa\u53e3\u8cbf\u6613\u53ca\u6279\u767c\u3001\u4f4f\u5bbf\u53ca\u81b3\u98df\u670d\u52d9\u53ca\u96f6\u552e\u696d\u7684\u840e\u7e2e\uff0c\u9019\u4e09\u5340\u5206\u5225\u6d41\u5931\u4e8610.5%\u30018.6%\u53ca6.9%\u7684\u8077\u4f4d\u3002<\/p>\n

\u96d6\u7136\u6574\u9ad4\u7684\u5c31\u696d\u5e02\u5834\u6301\u7e8c\u840e\u7e2e\uff0c\u4f46\u6709\u4e09\u5340\u7684\u8077\u4f4d\u6578\u76ee\u537b\u6709\u6240\u63d0\u5347\u3002\u7576\u4e2d\u9ec3\u5927\u4ed9\u534011.5%\u7684\u589e\u5e45\u6700\u70ba\u7a81\u51fa\uff0c\u800c\u8343\u7063\u4ea6\u67096.9\uff05\u7684\u589e\u9577\u3002\u4ed4\u7d30\u67e5\u770b\u5404\u884c\u696d\u7684\u8b8a\u52d5\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u767c\u5c55\u5169\u5340\u7684\u4f4f\u5bbf\u53ca\u81b3\u98df\u670d\u52d9\u548c\u904b\u8f38\u3001\u5009\u5eab\u3001\u90f5\u653f\u53ca\u901f\u905e\u670d\u52d9\u7686\u6709\u986f\u8457\u7684\u5347\u5e45\uff0c\u9019\u53ef\u80fd\u8207\u75ab\u60c5\u9593\u6d88\u8cbb\u6a21\u5f0f\u6539\u8b8a\u6709\u95dc\u3002<\/p>\n

\u7d30\u770b\u5404\u500b\u5730\u5340\u7684\u8077\u4f4d\u8b8a\u5316\u4ea6\u53ef\u4ee5\u627e\u51fa\u90e8\u4efd\u5730\u5340\u672a\u4f86\u7684\u767c\u5c55\u65b9\u5411\u3002\u4ee5\u89c0\u5858\u70ba\u4f8b\uff0c\u9032\u51fa\u53e3\u8cbf\u6613\u53ca\u6279\u767c\u662f\u8a72\u5340\u7684\u6700\u5927\u884c\u696d\uff0c\u4f46\u5728\u904e\u53bb\u4e00\u5e74\u537b\u5931\u53bb\u4e868 555\u500b\u8077\u4f4d\u3002\u4f46\u53e6\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\uff0c\u884c\u653f\u53ca\u652f\u63f4\u670d\u52d9\u6bd4\u53bb\u5e74\u63d0\u4f9b\u591a\u8d85\u904e7 000\u500b\u8077\u4f4d\uff0c\u9032\u4e00\u6b65\u978f\u56fa\u5b83\u5011\u5728\u89c0\u5858\u7b2c\u4e8c\u5927\u7522\u696d\u7684\u5730\u4f4d\u3002\u540c\u6a23\u5730\uff0c\u5143\u6717\u7684\u5730\u7522\u53ca\u6559\u80b2\u5408\u5171\u5728\u53bb\u5e74\u5931\u53bb\u4e86\u5927\u7d042 600\u500b\u8077\u4f4d\uff0c\u4f46\u4f4f\u5bbf\u53ca\u81b3\u98df\u670d\u52d9\u53ca\u88fd\u9020\u696d\u7684\u64f4\u5f35\u537b\u5f4c\u88dc\u4e86\u9019\u4e9b\u640d\u5931\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5728\u9019\u500b\u5145\u6eff\u6311\u6230\u7684\u7d93\u6fdf\u74b0\u5883\u4e0b\u5c0b\u627e\u51fa\u8def\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u4e0d\u61c9\u53ea\u5c07\u76ee\u5149\u653e\u5728\u91d1\u878d\u696d\u6216\u5927\u7063\u5340\u767c\u5c55\uff0c\u66f4\u9700\u8981\u4e86\u89e3\u6211\u5011\u793e\u5340\u7684\u7d93\u6fdf\u8868\u73fe\uff0c\u53bb\u767c\u6398\u5404\u5340\u7368\u6709\u7684\u6a5f\u9047\u3002\u6211\u5011\u61c9\u8a72\u85c9\u6b64\u6a5f\u6703\u53bb\u300c\u91cd\u65b0\u8a2d\u7f6e\u300d\u6211\u5011\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\uff0c\u53bb\u8abf\u6574\u6211\u5011\u7684\u7d93\u6fdf\u67b6\u69cb\u548c\u767c\u6398\u66f4\u591a\u7684\u53ef\u80fd\u6027\uff0c\u5f9e\u800c\u4ee4\u5404\u500b\u5730\u5340\u90fd\u767c\u5c55\u51fa\u4e00\u5957\u66f4\u591a\u5143\u5316\u53ca\u5177\u97cc\u6027\u7684\u7d93\u6fdf\u3002<\/p>\n
