Coastal Trail

Through rediscovering and reinstating lost trails we can enhance the network of urban and countryside trails throughout Hong Kong. This will increase alternative hiking routes available to all people, including the elderly, children and the disabled. Doing so will not only improve their enjoyment of the city but also improve public health. Check www.coastaltrail.hk for more.

Job description and responsibilities:

  • Reach out to community stakeholders to collect feedbacks and comments
  • Promote the beauty of trail to the general public
  • Explore the community stories and history along the trail
  • Provide contents updates for websites and social media
  • Survey the new potential coastal trails

Preferences / requirements:

  • Minimum 1 day per week during the internship period
  • English and Chinese writing skills
  • Keen interest in urban planning / nature conservation / local history
  • Active and ready to participate
  • Independent
  • Able to work outdoors and hike

Coastal Trail Challenge (Collaboration with Parks and Trails)

The Hong Kong Coastal Trail Challenge is co-founded and co-organised by Designing Hong KongiDiscover and Parks & Trails, and powered by TrailWatch. The Challenge aims to promote urban walkability, access to nature and heritage, healthy, sustainable living and responsible travel. It also seeks to enable the community to become cultural and environmental ambassadors.

Job description and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the communications team in Parks and Trails for the Hong Kong Coastal Trail Challenge event.
  • Promoting outdoor exploration and fostering a sense of community through this unique experience.

Preferences / requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flair for creative writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive functions
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite particularly Photoshop and Illustrator. After Effects and/or Premiere Pro is a bonus
  • Familiar with ChatGPT or similar language generation models is a plus
  • Independent, showing initiative, resourcefulness and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Undergraduates majoring in Urban planning, Languages, Marketing or Communication Studies or related fields.
